Participants can discover the fun and adventure of navigating their way through an area with map and compass in hand. This activity is great for groups of any size and age and can be included as a stand alone activity, a stepping stone activity for navigation and bushwalking or as part of a team building challenge. This activity can be run in various locations using permanent or temporary courses in locations such as Belair National Park, Kuitpo Forest, Woodhouse Activity Centre, Mt Crawford Forest and many more. This activity can also be run backwards. How you ask? The participants learn how to set out and record their own course using bearings and then have others navigate their course. Skills learned in this activity include basic compass and map reading, approximating distance as well as team work skills such as communication, leadership and cooperation.
